Free Enterprise Society

Overview and Guidelines
Started in 2000, the Free Enterprise Society (FES) provides worldwide recognition of individuals who demonstrate outstanding support in helping Junior Achievement accomplish its mission of inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy.

FES exists to encourage individuals to become involved with Junior Achievement and/or increase their current levels of individual contributions. The purpose of FES is to help perpetuate the free enterprise system. Support can be either local, worldwide, or a combination of support provided to several areas on an annual basis.

Recognition is provided for individual, personal or family gifts of $10,000 or more on an annual basis. Qualifying gifts must be received and recognized as individual gifts and cannot be from companies, corporations, or public foundations. Gifts from personal foundations or funds do qualify.

Gifts can be in the form of cash, check, and appreciated securities such as stock or other assets valued at $10,000 or more. Matching gifts from companies do not qualify toward meeting the required level for recognition. Contributions for special events, golf tournaments, and tables purchased, as well as gift in kind donations can be taken into account in reaching the $10,000 threshold. Spouse's names can be included in an individual's gift and the spouse will receive equivalent recognition.

Membership in the Free Enterprise Society is based on annual giving at the following levels:
